I called Bob Kemper early in 2003 when I was exploring buying a small house to rent ... one that would be a source of income in ten years when I retired (without a 401K).
Bob helped me become familiar with single family residences located throughout the valley that were within my low price range, shared his proprietary property management financial analysis software so I could assess each one, called me the day a house that fitted my parameters was newly listed, and helped me make an offer on an almost ideal property that was accepted the day after it was listed.
A day after that offer was accepted, my family realized that my 89 year old mom was no longer happy in a retirement home. We wanted to buy her a house near enough to me so I could check in on her a couple times a day. Bob identified the house, even before it hit the multiple listings. We made an offer the same day & it was accepted. He referred me to a great mortgage broker, who got me two mortgages at incredible rates!
WOW! Two escrows, 2 houses closing on the same day, repairs, preparing/improving both houses to my standard of living in a week’s time ... Bob was there though the whole process with excellent referrals to workmen, leases, forms needed by landlords. He even found me a carpenter to rip out a number of code violations in a garage and renovate it (with permits) in two weeks.
Five years later, Bob is still my supportive friend. He always answers his phone. He has located the best Ojai repairmen in emergencies. Through all of these years, Bob has been a caring, thoughtful guy, easy to work with, high standards, generous with his time. When foreclosures started happening in the Ojai Valley, he called to make sure I was OK with all these houses! Partially due to his help in 2003, I have nothing to worry about.
